The Rural Arts® Collaborative (RAC) works to expand access to arts education and creative experiences in rural communities by connecting professional teaching artists with schools and community partners.
Our primary focus is placing teaching artists into classrooms where they work alongside art teachers and educators, bringing specialized artistic skills and real-world creative experience into the learning environment. These collaborations help students explore new art forms, strengthen creative thinking, and experience the arts in ways that complement traditional classroom instruction.
While school partnerships are at the heart of our work, RAC also collaborates with community partners on projects that bring creativity into public spaces and community settings.
Partnership Opportunities
School Partnerships
RAC works directly with schools to place professional teaching artists into classrooms. These artists collaborate with art teachers and educators to lead hands-on projects, workshops, and creative residencies that enhance arts education and expose students to a wide range of artistic disciplines.
Public Art Projects
RAC partners with municipalities, community organizations, building owners, and local leaders to develop public art projects that celebrate community identity and creativity. These projects can include murals, installations, or collaborative art initiatives that engage residents and students.
Senior Living and Community Programs
In the past, RAC has partnered with senior living facilities and community organizations to bring arts programming to older adults. These programs encourage creativity, storytelling, and social connection while enriching the cultural life of the community.
